About me
Welcome to Do-Happy!
As an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor, I draw on a variety of therapy models to help move you forward. Our work together will be at a pace and style to suit your individual needs. I sometimes set small tasks for clients to complete in their own time if they wish.
We will work together in a relaxed and safe environment where no issue is too small, too large, or too embarrassing.
I work on the outskirts of Thornbury, South Gloucestershire, with easy parking.
Send me a message and I can call you for a brief chat to make sure that I am the right counsellor for you. It is important that you work with someone you feel completely at ease with.
Warm wishes,
Sarah
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold an Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and Diplomas in Hypnotherapy and Counselling Skills.
I am an Accredited Registrant Member of the National Counselling Society, which is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under its Accredited Voluntary Register (AVR) scheme.
I attend a variety of training courses and undertake continuous professional development to ensure that my knowledge and understanding is broadened.
I worked for Brain Tumour Support, supporting clients through all stages of their brain cancer journey. I also teach creative writing at Prema Arts Centre (which is my therapy!).
Coming from a varied professional background, it is my heart, not my head, that has led me into counselling; I welcome working with people from a wide variety of backgrounds. Previously I spent 8 years as a community learning tutor delivering a variety of courses such as confidence and wellbeing, parenting and personal progression and goal-setting. I developed support groups for parents of disabled children, ran creative wellbeing courses, delivered autism awareness courses and been a volunteer counsellor for Footsteps Counselling and Care in Gloucester for clients who have pregnancy and birth related issues, including bereavement.
