About me

I understand it will have taken a lot of courage to get here, so thank you and thank you for taking time out to view my profile.

I'm Sarah and I am a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, Coach and Supervisor with an integrative approach, working from a comfortable, confidential setting within my own home within Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.

I am also a qualified Coach and specialise in Therapeutic Coaching with a focus upon health and wellbeing.

Hopefully, it will help you to read a little bit more about me, my background, my training and my interests, so you can decide as to whether we might be able to work together.

I am a Registered member of the (BACP) British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for Counselling Professions and also hold my own professional indemnity insurance.

Therapeutic Coaching and Counselling

Sessions can provide a space for you to explore your experiences, to gain understanding and clarity. A space to work together through life's difficulties, a chance to move towards acceptance, manage personal challenges and together figure out a way to move forward and take steps towards your goals. Perhaps you are wanting to explore a new career and explore what a new direction might look like, Coaching would provide an opportunity to do this and explore steps to reach your goals.

I work as a Therapeutic Coach, whereby, my natural way of working would be to offer you a dual approach, integrating elements of both my integrative counselling and coaching training into our sessions, if this feels appropriate.

I work very much in a Solution Focused way, whilst integrating various elements of my training to my work with clients, these include, Person-Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Mindfulness and Wellbeing Coaching. This means that I will help you explore and understand any issues, within a confidential and non-judgemental space, whilst then focusing upon a flexible approach which may include tools and techniques which would help you move towards your personal goals.

I am very flexible in my approach and believe that you should be at the centre of our work together and that sessions should suit your need. I therefore, cover the cost for an initial half hour session to explore what working together might be like. After the initial half an hour we will together decide whether we can work together and gain focus for our sessions moving forwards. I like to offer this to my clients as I believe that this gives space for us to explore how we could work together.

I am able to provide support to both individuals and EAPs.

Clinical Supervision

I am a qualified clinical supervisor and work within Hawkins and Shohet 7 eyed model of Supervision. I have experience of working with counsellors with differing levels of experience and I am therefore, able to offer supervision to both qualified and non qualified-Trainee counsellors. I can offer a supportive person-centred, integrative approach to suit individualist need. I have been supervising counsellors for the past 5 years.

I regularly attend my own supervision in line with the BACP requirements.

Experience and Interests

I am passionate about facilitating positive growth and change through supporting and empowering the clients that I work with. I have a keen interest in Wellbeing, in our relationship with ourselves, our minds, bodies and souls. I promote self-care and self-love throughout my work.

My aim is to inspire and empower humans to:

’Prioritise their minds, Praise their bodies and to Love themselves more’.

I am an experienced registered counsellor, coach and supervisor. I have a background in Psychology and I have considerable experience of working within an educational setting, providing personalised support to those attending university as well as supporting young people within a local charity and within private practice.

Further experience also involves working with and providing personal therapy to students training to be a counsellor, for which I offer a discounted rate.

I also have experience of working within the NHS, whereby I am a Deputy Service Manager and support members of staff across all levels with a variety of issues.

These include stress management, anxiety management, loss, change, relationship issues, self-esteem, confidence and difficulties at home or within the work place.

Training, Workshops and Wellbeing Events

Through out the year I offer opportunities for individuals to join me for either full or half day workshops, training or events. I also offer CPD training for counsellors, coaches and counsellors in training to learn new skills throughout the year.

I also offer bespoke training packages to corporate companies, schools and groups and can design these to match your need. Usually, focusing upon a variety of wellbeing topics, which include: Stress Management, Relaxation, Diet as a coping tool for Stress, Mindfulness, CBT tools to reduce anxiety, communication styles and personality types (Transactional Analysis) boosting confidence, dialling up self worth, personal development and team bonding.
