About me

Do you long to experience some peace, freedom and self trust around food? I believe this should be a birthright for everyone. If you are feeling out of control around food and concerned about the size or shape of your body, I get it because I've been there. I now use my professional and lived experience to help others find their way out of the prison of binge eating.

I'm sure you have tried many times to gain control of your eating and maybe you're at a point where you're thinking there must be more going on than simply not being able to stick to a diet. Is therapy the answer?

Finding a therapist that knows how to help can be challenging. I always suggest clients have a look at my YouTube channel first (search The Binge Eating Therapist) and/or check out my podcast Life After Diets. This way you will be able to get a sense of me and how I work with emotional, compulsive and binge eating. If my approach resonates, please feel free to get in touch. I offer individual and group therapy as well as a recovery community with free monthly Zoom support meetings.

I know binge eating doesn't seem to make sense and in many ways it's not a rational problem. Because eating is linked to survival, it really can 'take you over' to the point where it doesn't even feel like you're making the decision to binge. This can be frightening. Please know there is support. If therapy is not affordable for you at the moment, I do have lower cost options within a supportive recovery community. You don't need to suffer alone. I promise you're not the only one.

Feel free to message me or check out my website for resources.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
