Sarah Day - Flourish Play Therapy MBACP
Maybe your child is worried or anxious and you have decided that now is the time to take the first steps to dealing with the issue. Maybe something unexpected has happened and your child has lost their confidence or self esteem. If your child is starting to struggle with their emotions maybe play therapy could help?
My therapy space is a playroom and I provide a warm, inviting safe space where your child can explore their worries using toys, games and the creative arts. Working at your child's pace I am there alongside them as they explore, express and experiment with new ways of thinking and feeling.
Getting Started- Please call or email to arrange a free 20 minute chat. We will talk about what your child needs from play therapy. If you are happy to continue then we can book a 3 step assessment.
Step 1. You and I meet to discuss your child's difficulties in detail- this takes about 90 minutes.
Step 2. Your child comes to the playroom and we get to know each other and they can explore the toys, activities and games in the space. This takes 50 minutes.
Step3. You and I meet again and I share with you my initial thoughts about your child and we consider how may sessions your child may need. This can typically range between 10-20, 50 minute sessions. This takes 30 minutes.
At the end of this meeting you and your child decide whether play therapy is right for your child and we then schedule the weekly sessions. The cost for this 3 step assessment is £110.
We meet up every half term to discuss your child's progress.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

If you are worried or concerned about your child, let's have a no obligation chat over the phone to explore how play therapy can support your child.
It's always better when you and I can work together as a team to support your child. We can meet up every 6 weeks to see how things are going at home and at school. I also work with parents to enhance their communication skills with their child through Parent and Child Attachment Play (PCAP) workshops. Maybe you are looking for ways of strengthening your communication with your child? We can have a chat to discuss this too!
