About me

I am an experienced Clinical Psychologist offering assessment, formulation and therapy to adults in the Merseyside area (Liverpool and Wirral) who may be experiencing a range of difficulties or distress.

We all have times in our lives that are painful and experiences that are difficult. Emotional and psychological distress are natural responses to such events and are incredibly common, and yet seeking support can sometimes feel overwhelming. Sometimes the way we feel can affect our everyday lives, including relationships, our ability to carry out activities and can cause us distress. These may be short-term difficulties, or may become part of a more established way of seeing the world around us, ourselves and others. At these times, we may benefit from someone to support us to develop strategies and different ways of coping. Finding the right professional to help you make sense of your difficulties in order to move forward is a deeply personal choice and it can be a challenge to work out who is the best fit for you. This website is designed to provide you with information in order to help you start that process.

I offer a confidential and professional therapy working with a range of psychological difficulties. I see adults from across the Merseyside region and try to be as flexible as possible in offering appointments that work best for you.

My Services

I can offer a range of services including

Psychological Assessment:

An assessment session should provide you with a psychological understanding of your relational patterns, difficulties and possible areas for future work. It can help you decide whether you would like to engage in psychological therapy.

Psychological Therapy:

I can offer short, medium and long-term therapy for a range of psychological difficulties, to people aged eighteen and over.

Clinical Psychology generally utilises a formulation based approach. However, for clarity here, some of the reasons people might seek therapy may include:

  • Relationship Issues
  • Low self-esteem
  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Low mood
  • OCD
  • Eating difficulties
  • Bereavement and loss
  • Trauma, including PTSD
  • Significant life events
  • Sexual difficulties

It is of vital importance that therapy is individualised to your unique set of needs and I can offer a range of evidence-based therapeutic interventions, which draw upon a range of psychological theories and approaches. I have a particular interest in relational models such as Schema Therapy and Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT). I also use elements of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Mentalisation Based Therapy. I have particular experience in complex trauma and difficult relational patterns and am trained in EMDR therapy. Therapy can be negotiated as short, medium or long term.

All of my services can be arranged by contacting me, and I am happy to provide further information, either via email or telephone. I am also happy to accept referrals from General Practitioners (GPs), and other health professionals. I may also be able to provide services for those claiming through their insurance provider, so please contact me for further details around this.I can also provide psychological formulation and therapy for Trainee Clinical Psychologists, as I believe this a crucial part of the training and development process. I can offer this at a reduced rate, so please contact me if you would like further details.

I can also provide Clinical Supervision for other Clinical Psychologists. Please contact me for details.

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
