Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

How Counselling Can Help
Counselling offers a compassionate space to explore challenges, recognise patterns, and cultivate emotional balance. At DDHT, therapy is not about “fixing” but understanding. Whether you're dealing with stress, anxiety, past trauma, or relationship struggles, counselling can guide you toward clarity, resilience, and personal empowerment. By fostering deeper self-awareness and nurturing your innate strengths, the process becomes a journey of healing, growth, and reconnection—with yourself and with others.
What to Expect in Your First Session
The first session is a gentle beginning. It’s a space for us to get to know each other, where you’re invited to share what’s brought you to therapy and what you hope to explore. We’ll talk through practicalities like confidentiality, structure, and how our sessions will flow. There’s no pressure to open up more than you’re comfortable with. My focus is on creating a relaxed, non-judgemental environment where trust can grow, and where your voice truly matters.
Your Therapy Journey
Every person’s path is unique, and so is the therapy we create together. From the moment we begin, our work is rooted in collaboration, curiosity, and care. Together, we explore your experiences, strengths, and goals, moving at a pace that feels right for you. Your therapy journey is not about achieving perfection—it is about embracing who you are and making meaningful shifts that bring clarity, healing, and empowerment. Whether our journey lasts weeks, months, or longer, I am here to walk alongside you with empathy and presence.
I create a space where growth feels possible and healing becomes real. Rooted in compassion, shaped by collaboration, and led by trust, my work gently guides you through life's complexities—whether you're seeking clarity, calm, or change. If you’ve ever longed for a space where you can truly exhale and just be—you might have just found it.
