Welcome to my counselling practice in Onich, near Fort William, in the Scottish Highlands. I am a qualified and experienced person-centred counsellor and work from home in a ground-floor room for easy access. My space offers confidentiality and a private, safe place where you can talk through the important things that matter to you.
If you are going through a difficult time, you may find counselling helpful. It can provide a space for you to talk things through and gain greater understanding and perspective on your situation. There can be a freedom in opening up to someone who has no personal agenda for you, who can offer you acceptance and empathy and help you explore the issues that are troubling you. This is what I hope to offer you as a counsellor. We can talk about whatever you want, and go as slowly and gently as you want to, in a safe, boundaried and confidential space. If this sounds like something for you, why not get in touch to find out more.
My personal development sessions are more structured than counselling. They provide a framework for you to look back on your life experiences and gain new insights into your relationships and way of being. I offer simple and practical self-awareness exercises, involving writing and other forms of creative self-expression. Working week by week, you are invited to spend some time in personal reflection on a specific theme and then to come to me for one-to-one sessions to talk through what you are discovering. From here, you can make life choices based on greater self-knowledge and define steps of change to guide you in a process of ongoing personal growth.

More recently, in 2019, I completed a COSCA-accredited certificate course for the supervision of counsellors at the Tom Allan Institute, Glasgow.
I am a registered member of BACP, the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Supervision & training
I believe that supervision is one of the most important elements in a counsellor's ongoing professional development. Ideally, it serves as a supportive space for you to discuss your therapy practice, identify new learning, attend to your self-care needs and ensure good ethical standards. .
