About me
Hello, and thank you for being here.
This may seem daunting, but you have already taken the first step by having the courage to find support.
So I’m Sarah, I am a counsellor- who also teaches counselling at degree level. Which allows me to use my knowledge about the theory behind therapy and the different methods of support- so whilst we are working together- I will use different ways in which I feel may be best suited to the support you might need.
These therapy sessions are YOUR 50-minute space, where you can feel safe to share your experiences, worries and feelings. At times, that may seem intense, daunting, challenging and can be overwhelming at different points, this process may not be a smooth road so we can tackle it together- until you feel secure enough to manage the issues on your own.
Throughout our time working together, I will listen to you completely, without any type of judgement- as that isn’t my place. I will be honest and show respect towards you whilst trying to understand how you see things from your view point- which is a privilege if you’re willing to be fully open with me.
I will tell you that in reality there is no quick fix in counselling, I can’t fix your problem, but I am here to support you on your journey of self-discovery. I can however provide support and different coping mechanisms so you can learn new ways of managing situations that’s life may throw at you- independently and with confidence.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
