About me

Life can throw all sorts of challenges and difficulties at us and sometimes we reach a point where our usual support system is not enough to get us through these times.
Counselling with me provides the space for you to gain the extra support you need, as well as allowing you to work through your thoughts and feelings, gain a deeper understanding of yourself and give you time to process the things that you have been struggling with.
It also provides you with someone to work this through with who is completely separated from your life and can offer alternative perspectives on what is happening, whilst understanding how it is for you.

Person Centred counselling with me is a collaborative, professional relationship whereby together we discover what is - and isn’t - helpful for you, what fits well into your life to help you make changes and what you need to talk through to be able to move forward from the point you are at when your counselling begins.

I specialise in supporting those struggling with loss, bereavement and grief, which can often leave you in a dark, scary and difficult place whilst everyone else carries on as normal, you can often be left struggling to get through each day. I can provide you the time and space to let your emotions out, begin to process everything and start to find a way out of that dark place.

Because it is important to find the right counsellor for you, who works in a way that is right for you, we will have a short telephone conversation before booking your first appointment.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
