What is counselling and how can it help?
I am a Person-Centred Counsellor.Every person is unique and has the capability and potential to grow by reflecting on, and developing inner resources and strengths. I believe that the relationship between the client and the counsellor is the most essential part of the counselling process. As trust is built up between us, we can explore aspects of your life in a way that will help you to understand your feelings and ways of behaving in a clearer way, and take steps to change.
I listen attentively and patiently, and endeavour to understand the difficulties from your point of view and help you see things more clearly and possibly from a different angle. I neither judge nor offer advice, and I will work with you to explore feelings about what you bring to counselling in an open and honest way. Feelings such as anger, grief, loss, anxiety and depression can be expressed and acknowledged, making it easier to understand these feelings. I believe that this journey of self-discovery helps each unique individual to gain a sense of their own value, self-worth and self-esteem.
How long does it last?
I can offer short term or long term counselling.
