About me

I am a qualified practitioner working in private practice; I offer once or twice weekly Individual Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and Psychodynamic Counselling for adults. I provide a supportive non-judgemental, confidential, therapeutic environment for individuals to explore their worries, thoughts, feelings and everyday challenges.

I am experienced in working with overwhelming anxiety, feelings of isolation and aloneness, panic attacks, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, work-related issues, abuse, bereavement or loss, race or cultural issues, shame and guilt, low self-esteem, self-harm, eating disorders, family issues, all of which we can talk about in therapy.

I work from consulting rooms at 65 London Wall, EC2M 5TU

How I work

I work in an empathic relational way and I provide a safe space where both of us (therapist and client) work together to explore your thoughts feelings and behaviours. The quality of the therapeutic relationship is an important part of the work together and I’ve found that gradually over time you can develop trust and security as we make sense of your current challenges. We make links to your past experiences with the aim to make the unconscious more conscious. This can lead to more self-awareness, which can provide relief from emotional suffering. Ultimately promoting significant change to enable you to live more fully and creatively in the world.

I offer an initial consultation meeting which gives you the opportunity to discuss what has brought you to the point of seeking counselling and whether you feel comfortable working with me and if I think I can help you.

I offer short-term counselling (12 weeks) which usually focuses on an immediate issue you are experiencing or open-ended psychotherapy which allows us to work more in-depth over a longer period of time.

What to do next

Sometimes taking the first step to therapy can feel daunting; the idea of sharing your thoughts and feelings with a stranger can be anxiety provoking which is understandable. I work to support your first steps by taking the time to listen well without judgement. I respect individual and cultural differences and I take confidentiality very seriously.

Please email or call me with any questions you might have or to arrange an initial consultation.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
