About me

Hello and welcome to my profile…..

Parker J. Palmer writes that “The human soul doesn’t want to be advised or fixed or saved. It simply wants to be witnessed – to be seen, heard and companioned exactly as it is.”

This is what I believe is true in therapy and how I work with all of my clients. Staying alongside you whatever it is you might be experiencing, and helping you to understand it more deeply.

I am an integrative counsellor, with over 25 years experience as a lawyer, business leader and coach. I’ve coached leaders for fourteen years as a consultant and in my private coaching practice and now work therapeutically with a diverse range of clients.

My clients come to me with various challenges. Some of the common experiences they talk about are:

-     Reduced pleasure in all areas of life

-     Disturbed sleep

-     Difficulties with switching off/relaxing

-     Inability to focus

-     Difficulty in forming/maintaining satisfying relationships

-     Stress/anxiety/burn-out

-     Depression

-     Life feeling meaningless

-     Confusion about sexuality

-     Questions about identity

As an integrative counsellor, I draw on many different approaches in my work which means that each relationship is very unique (as are all of our relationships). However, you as my client, are at the centre of all our work, and I believe that the answers to whatever questions you’re asking come from within you, at a mind, body and spirit level. We will also examine together how you have learned to build relationships and what beliefs and assumptions you carry into your connections with others.

Whilst I like to work with a range of clients, I enjoy and am familiar with working with leaders, whether you are a leader in an organisation, your community or in your own home. There are particular challenges that come with leadership. Often the responsibility for others may mean that you especially struggle to find the space to explore what’s really going on for you personally. I offer a space where you can begin to do that.

At a practical level, I work face to face with individuals on a short or long term basis. If you would like support, please call me to arrange an initial appointment. We will discuss what you would like from therapy and agree if we will work together. After that, we will meet on a weekly basis for fifty minute sessions.
