About me

Uncovering our stories and finding our voice can be particularly challenging for us as women. From a young age, we find ourselves in a culture which denigrates, objectifies and sexualises us and disrespects the feminine. I work to help clients recognise that where they may perceive a personal failing, there is likely to be an engrained cultural projection, so that they can begin to reclaim their story, desire, longing, power, love, and appreciation for their precious self.

This may be for you if...
- You have lived a life mapped out by others and have reached a stage in your life where you're beginning to question the wisdom of this
- You're keen to listen to your inner voice and to find out what your alternative personal map might look like
- You feel pulled in many directions; struggle to know and prioritise your own needs
- You know that deep down there is a part of you that longs for something more and you want to connect with her; get to know her and bring her into the world
- You feel fragmented as you wrestle to get it right; to be a good girl; to satisfy everyone's needs leaving you exhausted and drained. You know that there must be another way and want to find a path towards it. A life of ease and joy just might be possible, you posit, and you're curious to explore how
- You judge and berate yourself, holding yourself to impossible standards, competing with those around you but still never feeling quite enough
- You long to trust yourself and to bring compassion and acceptance to yourself just as you are
- You feel disconnected from, and not in right relationship with your body
- You feel disconnected from anything you associate with the feminine
- You long for a richer, more creative life but find you don't have enough time/energy/space or feel that whatever you do is not good/worthwhile/enough
- You really want to trust yourself but don't know what that means when there seem to be so many selves
- You are waiting to be perfect before you love yourself

As an integrative therapist, I draw on many different approaches which means that each relationship is very unique (as are all of our relationships). I place great importance on building a therapeutic relationship where you feel that you can explore whatever is most important to you, at the pace and in the way you wish. You are at the centre of all our work, and I believe that the answers to whatever questions you’re asking come from within you, at a mind, body and spirit level. My job is to accompany you back to yourself. Along the way, we will examine what your life experience has been so far; how it has shaped you; how you have learned to build relationships and what beliefs and assumptions you carry into your connections with others so that you have a deeper awareness of yourself and your life.

You may not be sure whether therapy is for you, or be clear about what exactly you “do” in therapy, or who you would like to work with. I understand that it can be quite nerve-wracking to take the first step and at our first consultation, I will ask you some questions to help figure some of this out.

At a practical level, I work face to face and online with individuals on a short or long term basis. I also run various groups for women in person and online. We study and embody Jungian analyst, Marion Woodman's work through dreamwork, myth and work with her texts. I also run women's circles and occasional workshops on bringing the feminine soul to consciousness through storytelling and creativity. If you would like support, please call or email me to arrange an introductory call.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
