About me

Hello and a warm welcome to my page...

  • Are you finding it a struggle just getting through the day?
  • Do you feel overwhelmed by little things?
  • Is anxiety or depression stopping you from getting the most out of life?
  • Are you going through a separation, divorce or feel communication has broken down in your relationship?
  • Have you found yourself lost, at a crossroads or faced with redundancy?

Then maybe it’s time to take control and counselling can help you do that.

Life can be challenging and at times throw up unexpected issues that stop us moving forward in a positive and purposeful direction. If you are struggling through life changes; anxiety, relationship issues, depression,  or feeling lost with the inability to feel peace of mind, then having a safe confidential environment to explore your thoughts and feelings can transform the darkest of chapters.

I work in a private practice in Hurstpierpoint, where I offer a warm, comfortable, non-judgmental and confidential environment in which to explore your issues, challenge your thoughts and heal your distress.

My background

I am an experienced and qualified Counsellor and an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).

Within my private practice I provide Counselling, Consultancy & Life Coaching Services to individuals and companies.

I have several years’ experience of dealing with mental health issues and can provide either face to face or telephone counselling.

My working experience has been varied, challenging and rewarding: I have worked as a Consultant for a global organisation; offering Mental Health advice to HR and Mangers, producing Pension and Health related reports, presenting workshops and offering on-site trauma support. I have worked within a clinical team as a Counsellor/Case Manager for a global EAP Provider (Employee Assistance Programme).  I have also worked for many years on Government funded projects in Southampton, Brighton and London as well as being a Bereavement & Loss Counsellor at The Peace Hospice in Hertfordshire. I have previously run group life-coaching workshops, as well as co-wrote and presented at an international conference.

I am also a trained Life Coach.
Whereas Counselling seeks to heal psychological or emotional issues, coaching can be seen as a way to optimize your life from a more stable ground. Life coaching is a highly practice and portable skill that can be tailored to suit your needs.

I will encourage and enable you to identify your personal challenges, dreams and goals and work alongside you to help support and achieve those aspirations.

People come to see me because they have found themselves at a crossroads – either by choice or circumstance – they may feel unfulfilled, dissatisfied, stuck, lost direction or are unsure of their future.

Life coaching is about action and adventure – about finding out who we are and where we want to be.  Our partnership involves powerful questioning, tools and exercises to help you gain clarity, get unstuck and find joy in your life.

In Life Coaching ACTION comes before Motivation – so take action today to change your life.

About my approach

My approach is integrative, concentrating on solution focus therapy and coaching. The Integrative part of that statement means that I am able to draw on a wide range of approaches, which means I use the right approach tailored to your individual needs and one that looks after your whole self. My belief is in total well-being which is about caring for your mind, body and spirit as I believe that health, emotion and well-being are inter-related and interdependent.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
