Sandra Bøjen-Taylor - MA, EMDR, AI-EMDR, MBACP (Accred)
About me
Clients do not all fit into one particular way of working, they are all unique. I therefore tailor the work to suit your requirements and your situation. In our first meetings we spend time assessing your needs and deciding the best way forward. I aim to provide a safe space where we can work together and address your issues within a warm, confidential working relationship.
I was initially trained in Humanistic, Cognitive Behavioural and Psychodynamic theories (Integrative) and then completed a Masters Degree in Integrative Psychotherapy in 2011. I am now also an EMDR Therapist working towards accreditation with EMDR UK and Ireland (https://emdrassociation.org.uk) and have just completed training in Attachment Informed EMDR. This is an approach recommended by NICE and is particularly suited to working with current or historic trauma as well as being helpful for those with issues arising from disrupted attachment during childhood, perhaps through separation, bereavement, hospitalisation, neglect or abuse.
I have experience of working online, both as a client myself and as a therapist - using the Zoom platform.
I practice online and also In Person from Orchard Barn Health at Stallingborough, which is within easy reach of Grimsby, Louth, Hull, Beverley, Scunthorpe and surrounding villages.
I am fully insured, on the BACP Register, Accredited with the BACP which means I have to attain very high professional standards, and hold a current Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate (May 2019)
There are many reasons why people come for counselling. Some people come because they are experiencing feelings of depression and / or generalised anxiety, or because they have been bereaved or traumatised. Sometime people's suffering is harder to identify : they may experience unexplained bodily symptoms, nightmares, panic attacks, unwanted thoughts or intrusive images. Occasionally past memories and experiences can remain unresolved and might cause difficulties in current relationships: there might be difficulties at work or within the family; or concerns related to feelings of hurt or rejection and lack of confidence.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
