About me

Samantha Jane Allison MBACP Couns.Dip Counsellor/Psychotherapist    Epping

Are you finding living life difficult? It’s okay not to be okay.

I am a qualified counsellor and a member of the BACP.  I can offer you a confidential, non-judgemental, safe space to listen and allow you to be you!

I will help you explore whatever is troubling you and find a way to work through it together.

Counselling takes courage and you have it, as you are here looking for a therapist. Well done, you have taken the first step, which is the hardest. You are on the way to taking control of your feelings and moving forward with your life.

I have extensive experience in working with a wide range of complex issues such as Depression, Anxiety, Addictions, Trauma, Relationship & sexual issues, LGBTQ+,  long term health conditions and more.  I am passionate and committed to working with you to resolve and work through the events in your life, which have led you to seek counselling.

I believe that therapy is a powerful tool, enabling you to have your own " life Tool box ", a valuable aid in moving forward and being better equipped for life, Your life.

Although I am a practising Person Centred therapist, I will also bring together other theoretical models to facilitate the need of each individual.  Each model may be applied to help explore a deeper understanding of where the difficulties and challenges may lay.

Therapy is not a one cap fits all and your individual needs are all different.  It is important to feel comfortable with your counsellor.  I believe that the  therapeutic relationship is the foundation and the key, in building trust and empathetic understanding in  working through your issues.

You are the expert on you! and we work together with what you feel is important, to start the journey of therapy

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
