The peoples, and professionals counsellor)My name is Samantha Ireland, I am a fully Qualified Degree level Person Centred Counsellor, Integrative Counsellor. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). I am a counsellor for the Health service and run my own counselling private practice in the Hyndburn area of Accrington. My service is fully insured, and privacy and confidentiality are the most important aspect in my sessions, your safe space to discuss any issues, without fear of anyone knowing about your private life.
I have studied counselling, dating back to 2006, and completed level one, two and three cpcab, counselling qualifications. Then progressing to my Degree at university. I have varied experience of working within mental health hospitals and with patience, and have worked in secure services with self-harm and personality disorders, as a nursing assistant. My Counselling hours were within Inspire, substance recovery with excellent feedback. My experience of working with people who struggle emotionally or who have sever mental health issues goes back to seventeen years, I feel, my calm, genuine personality is good for any clients who are afraid to come to counselling. I am currently a Counsellor within the NHS, with lots of up to date extensive training and regular supervision.
I have a full DBS advanced clearance to work with adults and adolescence. As as a member of the BACP, ethics and boundaries and adhering to the counselling framework are uppermost in my practice.
I am a Person Centred Counsellor, who works with a person centred approach, which is based on the relationship between the client and the counsellor. I have no say in your decisions or fixed opinions on how you should lead your life and I will remain non-judgmental, empathic and genuine within our work.
I am also qualified to use a integrative approach to counselling, that brings together specific therapies as well as brief time limited counselling. This approach is good for people who feel stuck in life or not motivated. As a therapists I use my sessions to tailor my approach to you the client, the situation that they are going through at the desired time. Each person needs to be considered as an individual and my counselling techniques will help you as the individual to deal with your issues or problems depending on your personal circumstances.
My integrative approach refers to the uniqueness of my clients personality and needs - integrating the effective, behavioural, cognitive, and physiological systems within a client, as well as addressing social aspects. Essentially, integrative counsellors are not only concerned with what works but tailoring therapy to their clients rather than the client to the therapy with positive outcomes.
I have lots of qualifications in counselling and experience and client hours, as well as this I have motivational interviewing qualifications, solution focused therapy qualifications and nlp skills, at degree level. I can work well with many issues as well as anxiety/generalised anxiety disorder and depression. Supporting bereaved adults and their families through grief.
My assessments up to date, have had excellent outcomes, your sessions can be monitored, and credible evidence based tools will be used for assessment and your safeguarding within your sessions.
Confidentiality is the key in my service, sessions are private, and professionals may contact me with the safety they are with an ethical, registered counsellor. I have Supervision with Accredited qualified supervisors and this helps me to further my knowledge of up to date topics.
