About me

My name is Sam, I can offer you a safe and non judgemental space to talk over the issues that are playing on your mind. It's not always easy to talk but choosing someone impartial can help, and its my role to facilitate any sessions that we might have to help you unpick the confusion, pain or loss that you might be faced with.

I have a foundation in Person Centred counselling but often use solution focused and CBT techniques to have a more integrative approach. This helps aid counselling work that is more brief in nature. Why would you want to be in therapy longer than you need to be.

I offer flexible telephone counselling because I believe therapy needs to be affordable and meet the needs of your lifestyle. Most of us have busy lives and demands and it isn't always easy to put your needs first. I can help you prioritise yourself for once.

Everyone's counselling journey is different, but it might look a little like this. You'll make contact with me either by phone email or website message.

We'll have a little assessment to break the ice and see how I can help you. The assessment will last around 20-30 minutes so make sure you have time and are in a quiet space.

If we are both happy that we can work well together then we will book in some sessions, usually weekly and each lasting 50 minutes.

We will have regular reviews to see if the counselling is right for you.

It is important that you feel comfortable with your counsellor and our initial meeting is an opportunity to whether we can work well together. With this in mind, the first session is charged at £20.

Telephone sessions £28.

We won't have a financial contract, just an agreement that you pay for each session you have at the time of booking, otherwise the session cannot go ahead.

Further information

If you feel comfortable working with me after our initial meeting then generally therapy can be completed in 6 - 8 sessions.

I can help you to make a decision about the type of therapy most suitable to your needs using NICE guidelines on therapy recommendations.

Today many people are keen that the therapy they are having is evidence based like CBT, unfortunately I don't yet offer this as stand alone therapy, however I regularly use CBT/Solution focused elements to tailor your counselling to you.
