Difficult feelings such as those of distress, anxiety or depression are often symptoms of a story that hasn't been fully understood or properly heard. My aim, in our sessions together, would be for us to begin to explore this story in a collaborative way - opening up the space and offering a supportive, confidential environment.
Our first meeting would be an opportunity for you to get a feeling for the way in which we might work together - with no pressure from me to look further ahead than this first 50 minute session.
During our initial meeting it may be helpful for us to discuss any hopes or expectations that you might have for therapy and we might begin to identify the ways in which therapy could be useful for you.
If you subsequently decide you’d like to begin working with me then I am very happy to work with you in a time limited way - a specific number of sessions or a number of months. It may also be appropriate for us to begin working together without setting this time limit - returning to this discussion once our work together has begun.
Please email or call if you have any further questions or would like to book an initial consultation. I can be reached on 01273 602137 - if I’m unable to answer immediately I’ll return your call as soon as I can (by all means leave a message on the answerphone to me know if there’s a convenient time to catch you). You can also email me directly using the contact form on this site.
