About me

I have been a counsellor for 7 years and have experience with a wide range of clients. I have worked with a variety of ages and people, from children as young as 5 years old, to teenagers and adults of all ages. I work with individuals as well as couples and families.

I am a person-centred therapist with a lot of experience in counselling using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). When working with young children, I often use Play Therapy and offer in-school support for young people. Over the years I have helped people with anxiety, stress, panic attacks, bereavement and trauma/ PTSD. Whatever your struggles are, I will help and support you, listen to your needs and together we will work through it and find manageable, long term solutions.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have many qualifications that make me a better and more rounded counsellor. I am always attending further training, learning new ways to support people, ensuring that my clients get the best out of me.

- Level 2 Counselling Skills
- Level 3 Counselling Skills
- Level 4 ABC Counselling Diploma
- Children's Bereavement Centre Training Course
- Level 2 Awareness in Bereavement Care
- Diploma in Counselling Children and Adolescents Through Play Therapy
- Level 2 Understanding Handling Safe Medication

CPD Details:

Building Resilience in Youth: I have worked with young people for over 10 years and have been successful with all of my young clients and their outcomes. I take great pleasure supporting and guiding the younger generation to enable them to become better equipped for the future.

Level 3 Residential Child Care Diploma: I gained this qualification whilst supporting young people in a secure setting. This gave me experience in working with children from disadvantaged circumstances, criminal backgrounds and children in care. Working with these children furthered my understanding of approaching every client with empathy and without judgement.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Course: CPD Hours, I have worked with CBT for many years and have found it helps a great deal with anxiety. I have supported many people using this process and have witnessed some great outcomes. Through the clients' hard work and determination they have managed to turn their life around and learn to manage their mental health for the long term.

Counselling Children & Adolescents Through Play Diploma: I have supported many children through play therapy to help them gain some insight on what their issues may be. Through Play Therapy you can help people through nurturing what they feel is impossible to let go. This enables them to process things in a different way to talking therapy.

Cruse Awareness in Bereavement Level 2: I have supported a great deal of adults and children through their bereavements and loss. This can be a very difficult time for a lot of people. I have had many clients that have worked through this difficult emotion by aiding in them figuring out how to live with the grief and grow around it, understanding that it isn’t something that will ever really go away completely.

Suicide Assist & Safe-Talk: This training has helped many of my clients. If you feel alone, I will be here to talk to in a safe space. There is always a way of finding the light again and I am here to help you find it.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
