About me

Are you struggling with a present difficulty or an ongoing issue and you feel you need to talk to someone.  Are you experiencing anxiety or stress which is becoming unmanageable.  Most of us experience dark times especially given the ongoing pandemic and one of the hardest things is asking for help. I am compassionate and sensitive to your needs and have over 20 years of experience as a counsellor.

I have experience in working with a diverse range of problems,  for example;  Relationship problems, low self esteem and lack of confidence, loss and bereavement, Anxiety and stress, depression and Panic attacks. Sometimes we feel like we are struggling but not sure why. Counselling can help make sense of your struggle and I can offer you a non judgemental space and support where together we can work towards positive change.

I am now able to offer face to face counselling as well as via zoom or WhatsApp. Alternatively you may prefer telephone, email or text, whatever way is right for you. Some clients have found they actually prefer the convenience of being in the comfort of their own home and of not travelling. I am a certified online and telephone counsellor.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified counsellor with over 20 years experience. I have also been a lecturer in counselling and owner of a successful training company. I have been Head of a Counselling Service and am passionate about helping people reach their goals.

I have experience in working with a diverse range of problems including Relationship problems, low self esteem and lack of confidence, loss and bereavement, Anxiety and stress, depression and Panic attacks. Maybe there is an area of your life you would like to improve.

I have worked in  Woman's Centre's, Halfway houses, Rape Crisis centre and Domestic violence charity organisations. Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
