I am a BACP accredited and experienced counsellor currently working in the NHS. I have many years experience of working with individuals, couples and families. Finding someone with whom you feel comfortable and able to talk to and who has the appropriate recognised training and experience can be a challenge. I am a welcoming, honest and strongly encouraging person and counsellor and appreciate how daunting it can be to take the first step to try counselling. Our first meeting will be opportunity for you decide if you want to build a working alliance with me. I believe that humour can be really important when connecting to one another and I always work in a way which is open to laughter and creative ways of working. I have a counselling room in a beautiful and peaceful setting surrounded by nature and stunning scenery, 3 miles from Llandovery. In some circumstances i can also offer home visit/appointments. If you prefer to be outdoors, I can offer supervision and counselling whilst walking/enjoying the stunning surroundings. Please enquire for more information.

Areas of counselling I deal with
I have many years experience working with people and families facing a range of difficulties or situations that we can all get overwhelmed with at times. Sometimes people only need one or two sessions and talking to someone who is completely separate from your everyday life can give you something objective and useful to take forward.
I have worked for many years in an NHS setting, briefly as a midwife, and more recently in cancer clinical trials setting and in an alcohol rehab facility and drugs+alcohol agency. I have a deep understanding and working knowledge of issues around anxiety, depression, panic, bereavement and loss and also LGBT and relationship issues.
Photos & videos
Counselling sessions are 50 minutes and cost £50 for individuals and £60 for couples or families. I offer concessions in some circumstances. I currently provide consultative supervision to NHS staff groups and can offer this service in your place of work or in Llandover y or Cardiff with colleagues/peers. I have a separate entry for my supervision work, please see for further details or feel free to make an enquiry.
I am a keen amateur artist and am able to work more creatively if this appeals to you/your organisation. The setting in which i work lends itself to working outdoors if you would find that helpful, as well as more traditionally.
