About me
Hello, I'm Sally, welcome to my profile.
I have worked with people to overcome their anxiety, depression, feelings of helplessness, abuse of different kinds, physical and emotional. I've helped people who couldn't make sense of their lives who have wanted to explore how to feel in control again. I have also worked with many students. Some were struggling to cope with University life, others had to deal with issues concerning family life that had left them feeling panicky and isolated. Healing is possible, I know that counselling can be a challenge to get organised. if you feel unsure, I'm happy to talk over your concerns or answer any questions you may have.
There is a way forward and counselling helps you to find the way that's right for you. Keep hope alive, life can get better. Do get in touch.
I have also worked with students who are on counselling or psychotherapy courses and where counselling is an important part of the course.
To begin with I will get to know you and the difficulties you face giving you time and space without judgement. As you learn to feel safe, I will help you explore and understand the causes of those difficulties giving you time to find ways of coping, overcoming feelings and situations that might have seemed impossible. You will find ways to deal with life, even if you don't think you can, to believe and trust in yourself
If you feel I can help you, you can e mail me or leave a message on my mobile. I will get back to you.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Sometimes it can feel very scary to start counselling and questions might be, what do I talk about or what am I meant to do. I was the same. But I did have counselling and trained as a counsellor because I know it can work. I learnt about myself, how I think, how I’ve been affected by the things that have happened in my life and why. The trusting counselling relationship helped me to relax in body and mind and as that happened I was able to let go of things that I had unknowingly kept hidden. I wasn’t told what to do but along the way I learnt what helped me, what motivated me and gained greater confidence in myself to deal with what life has to throw at me.
You have to want to give it a try and get over that first session which may not be as awkward as you might imagine. But if you find the right counsellor for you, you may find that daily life doesn’t have to be such an effort, or a battle. Or that the fear you feel can be overcome. Or that the awful experiences you have had don’t have to always get in the way of everything.
It takes time and it does take commitment but I assure you it can be worth it. Wishing you well.
