Sabine Farren-Hawkins. Bay View Practice
Individual and Relationship Counselling.
I specialise in Relationship Counselling. I am also qualified in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) as well as other types of therapy (Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and Humanistic) I use this knowledge and understanding of these various theories as well as my training in mental health, trauma work and working with vulnerable people in my work with clients giving me a wide range of tools to work with.
I am a BACP registered with many years of experience in various settings including University ( counselling both staff and students and making risk assessments), detention centres (offering counselling and practical support and assessing their mental health), working with the bereaved (through long term illness, suicide, murder, neglect) as well as with individuals (anxiety, depression, low self worth, sexuality, work issues) and couples ( affairs, sexuality, communication, separation, blended families) within my own private practice.
I provide a warm, confidential and safe environment in which we will work together through your issues and difficulties and look at new tools and coping strategies. These can range from anxiety, depression, anger, negative thinking patterns or relationships. We will together to gain an insight and better understanding with what is troubling you and work towards a better understanding and find ways of moving forward in a positive way.
Clients have given the feedback that I am 'warm, easy to talk to, perceptive, encouraging and very intuitive'.
I subscribe to the BACP Ethical Framework and undertake regular professional development and further training. I am insured by a professional indemnity insurance.
I also offer intensive recovery sessions for couples as well as solution focused sessions for individuals.
I work at the University of Kent as a counsellor and have a private practice in 2 locations - The Wellness Centre in Canterbury and in Birchington. Kent
I hope you will find all the information you need on my website but should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
