I am a psycho-dynamic psychotherapist with more than 20 years of clinical experience located in London. My knowledge and skills have developed through my psycho therapeutic work in a community counselling service, during my training placement, as a counsellor in a GP surgery setting and later on as trauma/PTSD focused therapist with a charitable organisation in North London. I believe that there is always something new to learn working in this field and make a regular commitment to on-going professional development and clinical supervision.
I am a professionally qualified counsellor with wide experience working in variety of settings for more that 20 years.
I am a member registered and accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I am bound by and adhere to its Ethical Framework for Good Practice.
I work with clients from the age of 18 on an individual basis and dealing with a wide range of issues. The length of time clients work with me varies according to the needs of each person and includes both longer term psycho-therapeutic work as well as short term solution focused counselling. In broad terms, short term counselling will typically be 6 - 12 sessions whilst working psycho-therapeutically at greater depth will take longer.
My Personal Approach
I am trained in the Psychodynamic model of counselling and I practice Integrative and EMDR therapy.
Psychodynamic is a model which focuses on how we interact with others as well as how we see see ourselves, others and the world. By reflecting on our thinking, feeling and behaviours we can address those aspects which are blocking us from being able to address current difficulties or perhaps from achieving our potential.
I provided treatment for individuals: experiencing anxiety problems, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), panic attacks and depression. I also have experience working with interpersonal difficulties.
I will share this knowledge with you where it would be helpful, to enable you to develop tools that you can use in everyday life beyond the completion of our work.
