Ruth Smith-Psychotherapist, Registered MBACP Counsellor, MA Counselling.
I am a registered MBACP psychotherapist and I provide private counselling in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.
With a background in mental health, I have extensive experience of working with different people through counselling, solution focused therapy, mentoring and coaching courses. I have helped individuals who have experienced depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, stress, loss and change.
I know that there are many reasons that lead people to consider counselling whether it’s pressures at work, relationship difficulties, or health. You may have an idea of why you need some help, or you may not know why you are feeling the way do and just need someone to talk to. Counselling can provide you with a space where you can share and explore your thoughts and feelings with a trained professional, who will respectfully listen to you.
I will help guide you through what you share with me and together we can explore and understand what is going on around you to enable you to live life with greater ease.
I aim to offer an inclusive, safe and confidential counselling space, where I can work with you for a long, or short amount of time.
I understand that counselling can seem daunting and it may be difficult for you to make contact. I know that it can take time to feel comfortable to talk to someone, particularly someone who you don’t know. Counselling can bring long lasting positive change you just need to find a therapist who works to provide counselling that is tailored to you. As a first step I am happy to speak you on the phone, or through email.
If you think you might like to work together, I offer an initial consultation to meet with you. The consultation is not a counselling session, but it is the next step towards counselling. It is an opportunity for you to share with me what you may expect from counselling and to discuss if you would find my counselling approach beneficial. We can also consider a counselling arrangement that would suit you.
Attending an initial consultation, does not mean that you are obligated to attend further sessions with me.
If you feel that you would be interested in booking an initial consultation, or if you have any questions please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call me on 07377 317798 for further information see my website.
