Ruth Smith-Psychotherapist, Registered MBACP Counsellor, MA Counselling.
I am a registered MBACP psychotherapist and I provide a private counselling service in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.
With a background in mental health, I have extensive experience of working with different people, through counselling, solution focused therapy, mentoring and coaching courses. I have helped individuals who have experienced depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, stress, relationship issues, loss and change.
I know that there are many reasons that lead people to consider counselling, whether it’s pressures at work, relationship difficulties, depression or a lack of confidence. You may have an idea of why you need some help, or you may not know why you are feeling the way you do and just need someone to talk to. Counselling can provide you with a space, where you can share and explore your thoughts and feelings with a trained professional, who will listen to you with respect and care.
My aim is to provide you with a counselling approach that is relaxed, confidential, trustworthy and tailored to you. I am dedicated to listening to you share with me your unique experiences and guiding you to understand how your experiences have shaped who you are. I can give you a different perspective and provide you with opportunities to change, grow, gain confidence and increase your self-worth. I believe that the insight you will gain from our therapeutic work, will help you through what you are currently experiencing, enabling you to live your life in the way that you want to and as the person you wish to be.
I understand that counselling can seem daunting, and it may be difficult for you to make contact. I know that it can take time to feel comfortable to talk to someone, particularly someone who you don’t know. Counselling can bring long lasting positive change, you just need to find a therapist, who works to provide counselling that is tailored to you, and most importantly someone that you can trust and feel comfortable to work with. It takes great courage and inner strength to decide to start counselling. I want to provide you with as much information as I can about how I practice, so that you can be reassured you have found the right therapist for you. If you have any questions please email, or call me.
If you think you might like to work together, I offer an initial consultation to meet with you. The consultation is not a counselling session, but it is the next step towards counselling. It is an opportunity for you to find out more about the counselling service I offer, and to find out if my approach would be a good fit for you. I can offer you long term counselling, or shorter length counselling.
Attending an initial consultation, does not mean that you are obligated to attend further sessions with me.
If you feel that you would be interested in booking an initial consultation, or if you have any questions please contact me at email@example.com, or call me on 07377 317798. For further information please see my website.
