About me

You don't have to face it alone.

Life can feel overwhelming at times and the thought of contacting a therapist can be a dauting experience; whether you're navigating loss, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship struggles, or simply feeling stuck. In a world full of noise and pressure, sometimes what we need most is someone who truly listens — without judgment, without agenda, just with understanding.

I work from a Person-Centred base. At the heart of Person-Centred counselling is you — your voice, your pace, your truth. This is a space where you’re accepted exactly as you are, and gently supported as you explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Additionally, I integrate models such as informed DDP (Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy) and TA (Transactional Analysis). I exercise a non-judgemental space, that is welcoming, friendly and open for you to discuss any problems, at your own pace.

If you're ready to take the first step toward healing and growth, I’m here to walk beside you.

I want to reassure you that I am kind, down to earth and accepting. I offer a free no obligation consultation that will allow me to understand you better and if I am able to support you in a way that will sufficiently meet your needs. Additionally, this gives you the opportunity to consider if I feel like the right therapist for you.

Initially, developing a trusting relationship with my clients is of the upmost importance to me. I’m not here to tell you what to do with your life, more simply work with you to help you to figure out how your past or present life situation is contributing to your mental health and emotional wellbeing, thus supporting you in moving forward.

Subconsciously, we often repeat patterns of behaviour. I can help you identify these, understand where they come from and how they are influencing your behaviour, relationships and contributing to your overall wellbeing.

Previous job roles have provided me with over 20 years’ experience in working with children, young people and adults from a range of diverse backgrounds. I have a background in music and song writing, and I enjoy working creatively.  I have found working creatively with children to be beneficial in supporting them to explore and process their emotions whilst developing a sense of safety and connection within the therapy room.

Working with children and young people is a passion of mine. Often their behaviour is a way of expressing how they feel. This at times can be challenging for parents or caregivers. I can help families navigate the challenges of parenting. Whether you're facing conflicts with your child or teen, struggling with communication, or feeling overwhelmed by parenting stress, I offer a supportive and non-judgmental space to work through those difficulties. My goal is to help parents build stronger connections with their children, improve family dynamics, and feel more confident and supported in their parenting journey.

I love the outdoors and various other leisure activities; I recognise the importance of self-care, we can often get caught up in doing things for others rather than ourselves, leaving us feeling exhausted, frustrated and drained. I can help you take steps to understand how you can do this for yourself free from guilt.

If you think I sound like the right person for you to work with, please don’t hesitate to drop me a message.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
