About me

I am a qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist (BACP Registered), offering individual therapy online and in-person in south London; this can be short or long term, depending on your needs and wishes.

People come to therapy for many different reasons: there could be something specific that has happened that you need support with, or there could be a general sense of feeling unhappy, lost or stuck and wanting to understand more deeply what it is that has been causing you difficulties, be it issues in relationships, anxieties, fears or confusing feelings.

Psychotherapy can feel daunting initially and be a difficult process but also one that gives you the opportunity to talk through feelings and thoughts which may have felt too overwhelming to express or manage. I offer a safe, non-judgemental space where at your own pace, we can work together to uncover and make sense of your thoughts, feelings and experiences.

My approach is psychodynamic which involves thinking about earlier experiences in your relationships or environment. I aim to explore with you how these may be linked to what is happening in your life in the present: how  relationships or experiences  may have shaped how you relate to people or how you think, feel or behave.  This can help to uncover what you may not have been aware of, obstacles which can be linked to the past and need understanding in order to move forward in your life.

If you would like to find out more about me or how I work, please do get in touch via email. Following this we can arrange an initial meeting where I can see if I can help you at this time and if you would like to work with me.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
