About me

Hello and welcome ,

Do you have a feeling that things in life are not going well , not quite right at the moment  and you find it difficult to share /expose this to friends or family ?.  Are you feeling anxious or depressed about something? Maybe you are feeling stressed ,upset about past or current events which are affecting your life / way of being now ?

Getting in touch with me will be a good place to start on your road to recovery/self discovery and together we can work towards peace of mind.
My aim will be to help you get the best out of your life and encourage you to reach autonomy.
I have 25 years experience and the ability to help with a wide range of issues including anxiety and depression, stress or despair . I also specialise in bereavement counselling and understand the feelings that loss can bring.

I provide a calm, comfortable, safe space for you and will help you explore your feelings and guide you on your journey to reach your goals and find ways to manage what you are experiencing.

I am a Humanistic Counsellor specialising in Person Centred/ /Integrative   Counselling Therapy. I provide a safe haven for my clients to explore their lives and situations in complete confidentiality. In this space you can be heard by me in a totally non judgemental and empathic way and feel safe to express yourself freely .

All you will need to do is contact me to have a brief conversation about what it is you would like to achieve from counselling and then we can set a date and time.

I am also aware that some people may find it difficult or stressful to leave the privacy of their own homes to see me therefore I have also set up an online (skype) counselling service. I have found that this service has provided a safe route for many of my clients who like to cross dress but do not feel at ease leaving the security of their homes.

Please look at my website for more details about this.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a European Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I have 25 years experience and for 16 years I have had my own private practice. I have also facilitated groups in self empowerment /self awareness and self discovery . I have guided people on their journey to reach peace of mind and equilibrium/ balance.
I have also worked as a lecturer / tutor of Counselling and Psychotherapy for the CPCAB at a local college for many years which I thoroughly enjoyed and embraced being a part of.
I believe that students training to be counsellors themselves can benefit immensely from sessions with me because of my experience in this department.
I am also a qualified bereavement counsellor and understand what loss can bring and how grief can affect our lives.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I am providing an online service specifically for people who find it difficult to leave the comfort of their own home. I am aware that someone, for instance, suffering with agoraphobia would find this a beneficial outlet. People who find it difficult to get about due to physical disability /wheelchair access etc may also find the "Skype" way a great asset.

I am also aware that cross dressers /transvestites who want to "dress " for their counselling sessions may feel more comfortable from the safety of their own homes / private spaces therefore Skype could be invaluable.
