About me

Hello and welcome, I offer a counselling service to adults and young people from the age of 11+. Counselling gives you a chance to explore and process the difficulties you may be experiencing in your life at present, and give you the time and space to process your past traumas, or difficult experiences.

I offer a safe, judgement free and confidential space, one where we will work together to unpack what it is that may be troubling you. As your counsellor, I aim to sit with you through your journey, to help you find your voice, and give you a chance to make meaning and understand yourself a bit better. It can be hard opening up to someone, that’s why the relationship we build should be a contained, safe and a trusting one. Counselling is a talking therapy, a way to get what’s on the inside out, a place to explore and allow your feelings to be heard, and essentially a place where you can begin the process of growth and change.

You may be struggling with anxiety, low self esteem, suicidal thoughts, self harming behaviours, bereavement, trauma, or you may just need a space to work things out, to make a change in your life and just need a little help with getting there.

I offer face to face counselling in Harrow, as well as online. Initially, I offer a 30 minute online consultation to find out a little about you, what it is you may want/need from counselling and to see if we are a good fit and can work together.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified counsellor and registered member of the BACP. I qualified in 2013 with a Foundation Degree in Person - Centred Counselling. I have since gained qualifications in CBT, counselling children and young people, and trauma informed therapy.

Since qualifying as a counsellor, I have worked in schools and worked with families. Currently I offer a counselling service in a secondary school, and see clients in private practice also.

Alongside my practice I also run parenting workshops on a range of topics, from supporting your child with low self esteem, to understanding your teens brain.

Anxiety, depression, self harm, suicidal thoughts and trauma are some of the things I work with often, whether that’s in young people or adults.

As well as my qualifications, I also attend regular CPD sessions on many different topics, including, young people who hear voices, anxiety and OCD, sand-tray work, self harm and personality disorders.

Being a registered member of the BACP means I follow their ethical guidelines, I attend regular clinical supervision and have appropriate insurance and a valid DBS.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
