Rukhsana Khan MBACP Counsellor and Psychotherapist
Making the decision to begin counselling is never easy, and I respect the courage and commitment required to undertake this process. Therefore it is my aim to provide you with a safe and confidential environment where you can explore the problems or difficulties you may be experiencing without being judged.
You may be feeling stuck and confused, overwhelmed by your emotions, anxious, depressed or struggling to make sense of things. You may have feelings of isolation, or difficulties in a relationship. Finding it hard to cope with change, or perhaps you are unhappy with the quality or direction of your life.
Through therapy we can identify patterns that are not so useful and look at changing them, so that we can move forward and grow from our experiences. We can overcome the barriers that are holding us back and gain awareness to work towards a more positive understanding and change.
I am an Integrative trained Counsellor and Psychotherapist and have experience of working with young people and adults, with a wide range of issues and backgrounds. I offer short term and long term therapy depending on your needs, focusing on specific problems or difficulties to issues needing more exploration. I work collaboratively with my clients and believe that the client-therapist relationship is key to make change possible, recognizing your individuality and uniqueness as being the central principal of my work.
My background and experience of working with diverse communities has given me an in depth understanding of cultural issues and how they can influence our way of life.
I have specific training in working with clients suffering from trauma, loss and bereavement. I also work with children and young people in school settings and have experience of working with depression, anxiety, bullying and low self worth.
