I offer counselling for men and women, of all ages, from my established private practice in Puriton (near Bridgwater), adjacent to junction 23 of the M5.
And currently due to Coronavirus I offer remote counselling via Skype.
At times we are all affected by the pressures of life, which sometimes may seem overwhelming.
You may suffer from anxiety, feel stressed, depressed or struggle to maintain your self esteem. You may have lost someone close to you or struggle with relationship issues.
You may experience panic attacks. Sometimes health concerns and work pressures are difficult to deal with.
You may not understand why you feel so angry.
You want change and can ask for help. In a totally confidential and non judgemental environment.
Counselling can help you understand why you feel the way you do and can be a release for feelings that you have not been able to share before. It may help guide you through difficult times and enable you to see different perspectives and achieve your true potential.
The therapeutic effect from counselling can often be life changing.
My passion for counselling and helping people was `sparked` by my own life experiences. I often use `touchstones` from those experiences to help me understand how it may feel for you.
I hope to demonstrate to you a genuine warmth, acceptance and understanding of you in your world without judgement or criticism.
I adhere to the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy published by the BACP. I have passed the certificate of proficiency examination (COP).
My therapeutic approach is person-centred/integrative and focuses upon...
- Demonstrating empathy or deep understanding
- A non-judgemental attitude and acceptance of you in your world
- My congruence; being honest with you and me, and not being afraid to express this honesty for your benefit.
These three "core conditions" provide the foundation of my counselling approach. When appropriate I use techniques from other theories to compliment, such as; Gestalt and Transactional Analysis.
Fundamentally our therapeutic relationship is; respectful, trusting and confidential.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Face to face sessions will resume as soon as possible at a fee of £40.00 per hour,
