About me

I offer psychotherapy following the Psychosynthesis modality, as a qualified counselor accredited by NCPS.

My practice is informed by lived experience; a great deal of self-experimentation and exploration; a range of educational courses in radical honesty, non-violent communication and wheel of consent; and 7+ years of running workshops and facilitating groups.

Clients come to me for relationship challenges, boundary work, attachment issues, self-confidence and handling difficult emotions. While I see many polyamorous and non-monogamous clients, my practice is open to anyone, and many of the relationship skills that contribute to a healthy, conscious relationship, apply across all relationship dynamics.

After a long career in marketing and business development in the tourism and retail sectors, working in large companies and as an entrepreneur, I have changed directions in 2021. The COVID-19 crisis prompted me to retrain for a new career in mental health and wellness.

This is what those who know me, say about me:

  • Attentive and empathetic space holder
  • Pragmatic, direct and analytical
  • Focused on growth, empowerment and independence
  • Accepting and affirming of gender, sex and relationship diversity
  • Oriented towards system dynamics in relationships
  • Has a good balance of gentleness and firmness
  • Possesses the ability to apply skills across multiple disciplines
  • Has a passion for mentoring and coaching

More about Psychosynthesis:

Psychosynthesis is a holistic approach to psychology that views the human being as a dynamic, evolving system composed of multiple aspects, including the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. The concept of Self in psychosynthesis refers to the unique, individual essence of a person that transcends and integrates all of these aspects.

The Self is seen as the centre of a person’s consciousness and the source of their personal identity and purpose. It is not to be confused with the ego, which is the limited and temporary sense of self that is based on social and cultural conditioning, past experiences, and personal fears and desires. The Self, on the other hand, is seen as the unchanging, essential nature of the person that is beyond the ego and its limitations.

In Psychosynthesis, the goal of personal growth and development is to move towards a greater awareness and integration of the Self. This involves a process of self-discovery, self-acceptance, and self-realization that leads to a more fulfilling, authentic, and meaningful life. Psychosynthesis practitioners work with clients to help them identify and overcome obstacles to Self-realization and to develop the skills and capacities needed to live in alignment with their true nature.
