Integrative Counsellor specialising in loss and bereavement

About me

Hi, and welcome to my profile page!

I am a qualified integrative counsellor, and I specialise in loss and bereavement. I have experience of working with clients facing a wide range of issues from anxiety to bereavement and much more. I would love to support you as you journey through your issues and become more self-aware.

How counselling can help:  Life can get overwhelming, and taking that first step to counselling can sometimes feel uncomfortable. I help you to feel comfortable and relaxed, and allow you to work at your own pace. Whatever has brought you to this point of seeking help, you do not have to do it alone. As an integrated counsellor, I draw on different approaches according to each individual client.

I aim to create a safe space where you feel comfortable sharing your concerns and fears without feeling judged or misunderstood. I can help you discover practical tools that enable you to cope better, and if appropriate, take time to look at some of the underlying ‘root’ causes of the problem.

I provide support and offer a warm and empathic approach as we explore any concerns you may have. I prioritise building a therapeutic relationship, so that you can feel that our sessions together are a place where you do not have to put on a mask, but can feel comfortable enough to be your true self.

Services: I can offer long-term or short-term counselling to suit your individual requirements, and I can also offer single-session therapy, which is a 2-hour session in which you can bring anything you feel you need some help or guidance with. These sessions are similar to life coaching, where we work more in the here and now. I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for good practice, and work with adults over the age of 18.

Each single session is 50 minutes, and takes place Online or at Cranleigh Baptist Church, Cranleigh.

Contact me for a free 20 minute telephone consultation to discuss how we can work together to move forward.

Training, qualifications & experience

Experience
As well as working online with The Eaves, I also work at Lighthouse Counselling in Kent. This work has involved supporting Online clients with a wide range of issues. I have worked with short term and open ended contracts, as well as Single Session Therapy.

I have experience of working with clients face-to-face and online.  There are many advantages of working online, including flexibility and accessibility, but also research has shown that online therapy can be as effective as in-person therapy.

I have completed some training in couples counselling, and this has been valuable for supporting individuals with relationship difficulties.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
