Dr. Rowena Jopling, Chartered Counselling Psychologist
Hello, I offer psychological therapy in South West London and on-line.
As a Counselling Psychologist I draw on both Counselling and Psychology to tailor therapy to each person, whilst also understanding the evidence behind what may be helpful. Before training to become a psychologist I worked for 12 years in business, so I am able to offer a perspective on difficulties that relate to work, as well as personal life.
I have worked with clients who are experiencing anxiety, relationship issues, low mood, family issues, emotional regulation issues, self harm, work related stress, low self-esteem, low self-confidence as well as people who are adapting to life-changing situations such a physical illness diagnosis including terminal illness and cancer.
I have worked in NHS settings with people who have severe mental distress, as well as people who are experiencing short-term life difficulties. As well as working with current distresses, I have also worked with people who have experienced childhood related issues such as trauma, sexual abuse, emotional abuse and physical abuse.
I hope to offer a clear and simple approach to starting therapy. The first step is a phone call to briefly discuss your needs and to arrange a first meeting. The consulting room I use is especially designed for therapy and is of a high professional standard.
I am trained in several approaches: person-centred, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapy. I also offer Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). I work with people to understand what may best suit their needs and I am trained to integrate approaches so that the therapy can be helpful.
If you have any questions at all about the process of beginning therapy, please feel free to call.
