About me

I am a Highly Experienced Counsellor and a Registered Practitioner Member of COSCA & BACP as well as a COSCA Clinical Supervisor.   MAC Counselling provides personal & business Coaching in our offices based in Newton Mearns and Clydebank in Glasgow.

We work one-to-one with Individuals and Couples using an 'integrative' approach. This means that we use a number of different types of counselling methods to make sure that you get the help and support you need in order to make meaningful and effective changes in your life so that you feel happier, more in control and more fulfilled.

We also provide counselling or coaching to couples and individuals experiencing difficulties in their relationships. There could be a breakdown in communication, an affair, financial worries, loss of trust or just a relationship MOT needed.

Some Client Feedback

"It is amazing how quickly you can change yourself by simply talking. Seeing Ros has allowed me to find myself again, allowing me to pursue goals and dreams. I was once in a bad place however with Ros's help I have found confidence and I am now pursuing a degree as a mature student. Talking helps and I am truly grateful to the help Ros has given me"

"I saw Ros for a series of counselling appointments when I was really struggling and didn't feel like I had anyone to talk to. I really liked Ros's approach and found her to be empathetic and warm. She helped get me back on track and helped give me a different perspective on things. Even now, a couple of years down the line, I think of her advice & wisdom most days!"

"I benefited hugely from the safe, tranquil space that Roslin created. She helped me to explore my issues in a completely non-judgemental way.  Her manner was always gentle, but I appreciated her challenges when necessary and this is what helped me move forward. She is completely approachable and I warmed immediately to her. Having come across many therapists in my personal and professional life Roslin stands out as someone who genuinely cares and cut right to the heart of the issues with great insight but also the humour she brought at times really helped me to relax and enjoy our sessions together.  I can’t thank her enough for the space she gave me to offload and work through my issues at a time when I felt I had no one else to turn to."

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling as well as Relationship Coaching and a Diploma in Clinical Supervision. I work with both individuals, couples & counsellors. I also undertake frequent advanced Professional learning. I also have a PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) Registration with Disclosure Scotland. In addition to this I am also a skilled Facilitator and Trainer available to work in Glasgow and the surrounding areas.

In addition to my Counselling experience my previous business background, included Sales, Accountancy, Relationship Management, Team Building, Mentoring and Personal Development across a number of different areas. As a result of this wider experience I am acutely aware of the pressures and stress of the commercial and corporate world as well as the impact of inter-personal relationships on our ability to perform, create and be happy.

Member organisations

COSCA
College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSCA)

COSCA is the professional body for counselling and psychotherapy in Scotland, and seeks to advance all forms of counselling and psychotherapy and the use of counselling skills by promoting best practice and through the delivery of a range of sustainable services. COSCA Counsellor Accreditation is a pathway to entry onto the UKRC.

It is a requirement of all individual and organisational members of COSCA to abide by its Statement of Ethics and Code of Practice and be accountable to the Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

‘Who am I?’ What an interesting question!

Friends, colleagues and clients would say I am ‘passionately curious, highly intuitive, warm, empathic, like a dog with a bone, down to earth, inspiring, insightful, straight talking and funny’. Generous words!  I on the other hand experience myself as ‘a happy, loving and intensely curious woman, passionate about people and constantly seeking knowledge, wisdom, mastery and connection’.

These two very different answers reflect that I cannot truly know who I am unless I allow myself the joy and the pain of being in relationship – irrespective of whether it is intimate, social or business in nature.

I believe that I offer my clients a unique, relaxed, empathetic yet professional relationship in order to help them to understand and accept who they are, while giving them tools and strategies to manage the many challenges that they may be facing in life.
