About me

Does life feel difficult, uncomfortable or challenging?  Then you're not alone. I provide a space where you can talk openly and free from judgement to explore your thoughts and feelings, to learn more about yourself and gain clarity. Whether it be past experiences, current issues or concerns for the future, no topic is too big or too small.

My approach

I work from a client centred perspective, placing you at the centre of our work. Fostering an environment where you can feel heard, understood and seen. I won’t direct you or give advice but instead will support you in developing a deeper understanding of self, working out what it is you need, leading to a more authentic life.

My core theoretical approach is humanistic existential, where I aim to learn more about what brings meaning into your world, looking at the tensions that exist in our lives and how we can learn to live in uncertainty. I recognise that every human is unique and there is no one size fits all approach. Our lived experiences, ethnicity, gender identity, sexuality and neurodiversity can all impact the way we see the world and I aim to adapt my approach to meet your individual needs.

My experience

I have worked with a wide variety of clients and discussed many different topics, but I find my area of specialty tends to lean on relational difficulties (including family, romantic, friendships and sexual), anxiety, depression, boundaries, identity and managing change (including grief and loss).

Outside of working as a counsellor, I work with young people on managing their mental health and enhancing their wellbeing.

What happens next?

It can feel apprehensive to reach out and ask for help, wanting to make sure you work with the right counsellor for you.

If you are considering working with me, the first step is to make an initial enquiry, I will get back to you within 48 hours. From here we can schedule a free initial call to explore whether I am the right counsellor for you. I am always open to answer any questions you may have about the process, or about me as a therapist.

If after the phone call, you feel comfortable working with me, we can book an initial session and go from there.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
