Rosie Dempsey - MBACP (Reg), Adv Dip Counselling.
78 New Street
Hello and welcome!
Sometimes in life we experience difficult times and that can leave us feeling anxious, stressed, depressed or simply overwhelmed. You are not alone and counselling can help.
I am a registered counsellor and hold a certificate in supervision. I previously worked for many years as a nurse. I have a variety of counselling experience and can offer you a safe space to talk without fear of being judged and in a confidential relationship.
I believe that by offering a respectful and compassionate way of working, at your own pace, I may be able to help you explore the cause of your struggles and understand what is going on for you.
Together we can then look at how you might choose to manage these problems and move forward in your life. Counselling can bring deep and meaningful changes so that you can start to feel good again.
- My counselling room is quiet and comfortable and is conveniently situated in the Milnsbridge area of Huddersfield. It is easily accessible by road with disabled access and parking.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a person centred counsellor, which means that I work in a way that facilitates your own capacity for self healing. I am also a relational therapist, which means that I aim to build up a relationship of trust, so that you can reach your own personal potential.
I also use psychodynamic insights, so that if you wish, we may explore the origins of why you feel and act the way you do.
I may also integrate elements of other counselling methods and techniques if we feel these might help, including mindfulness, relaxation, breathing techniques, role play, Gestalt, CBT, and Transactional Analysis.
- I hold an Advanced Diploma in Counselling
- I am a registered member of the BACP and practice within their ethical framework
- I hold a BPS certificate in supervision
- I have regular supervision of my practice from another experienced therapist
- I attend regular continuing professional development courses
As well as my private practice I work as a counsellor at a local charity.
