About me

Welcome to my profile. I'm a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Counselling Psychologist and a chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). 

Your mental health and wellbeing are important to me and I want to help you through psychological therapy, to manage or overcome any issues you may have to help you live the life you want to live. 

I offer a warm, compassionate and empathetic approach and work. As a Counselling Psychologist,  in an integrative way, encompassing a number of psychological approaches to my therapy with you. We will work collaboratively to address your therapy needs and goals. A focus could be exploring together how your lived experiences may be impacting your life today. Together we will find helpful ways to enable you to manage or overcome any difficulties you may be having.

As part of my doctorate in Counselling Psychology, I received extensive training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) along with training in Humanistic and Relational Psychotherapy, and Systemic Therapy. I draw on psychological interventions from these approaches as well as from Compassion-focused Therapy, Solution-focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Transactional analysis

I have worked with many clients across NHS and community-based services. I have developed specialisms in working with clients who have long-term health conditions, sight loss, have experienced domestic abuse, and those who have experienced historical trauma.

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
