Rosemary Palmeira MBACP (Accred)
COUNSELLING & SUPERVISION
I am a qualified Psychotherapist with 20 years` experience and have worked for 14 years with refugees, asylum seekers and the BME community, both adults and children. I have worked with Local Authority, voluntary organisations and privately. I am also a published writer of poetry, prose, memoirs, plays and a musician and artist.
Many of my clients have suffered from low self-esteem, PTSD symptoms, loss, identity crisis, multiple bereavement, victims of rape and trafficking, severe anxiety and depression. I specialize in Loss, Bereavement and Trauma Work, cultural transition, identity crisis and living with pain and sickness.
I enjoy using creative therapies in counselling and supervision such as Art Therapy, Creative Writing, Play Therapy, Focusing, Mindfulness, Relaxation, Storytelling, Chairwork, working with stones and figures, Dreamwork, Life Maps and more.
I believe that insight and support can lead to substantial healing, that a life crisis is not merely a ‘problem to be solved’ but can be a catalyst for growth and change, and that everyone deserves to be treated as a human being, worthy of dignity, respect and unconditional regard.
