Rose Woodhead MBACP (Accred), Registered Counsellor and Supervisor
As an experienced and qualified counsellor working in the centre of York, I offer a welcoming, safe and confidential environment in which we can explore your issues and any problems which might be worrying, unsettling or causing you difficulty.
Sometimes clients are unsure about what is troubling them and are feeling confused, misunderstood or unhappy. Counselling can enable you to work out what the problem is and gives you a chance to express yourself and to explore what might help you. I can then support you in looking at new ways of putting positive changes in place.
By helping you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, my intention is to help you develop a more fulfilling quality of life.
I believe that the key element to successful therapy and counselling is the therapeutic relationship between client and counsellor. Being listened to within a safe, non-judgemental atmosphere, can allow you to discover how to make those first steps to transforming your life. I work in an integrative way and I draw on my knowledge and experience to help each individual client with their unique needs.
I work with adults and young people, as well as working together with parents and their children. I have experience working with a wide variety of issues in my private practice and in the voluntary and educational organisations that I have worked within.
Depending on what is right for each individual client I work long or short term. This is something that we would discuss in the first session. Sessions last for up to one hour and usually take place on a weekly basis. Appointments are available during the day.
