About me
My name is Rose and I’m a BACP Accredited Counsellor, Therapist, EMDR practitioner and Compassionate Mindfulness Trainer with a wide-ranging knowledge and experience of different modalities of therapy and practice.
I have worked as a counsellor, therapist and group facilitator for many years in a diverse variety of organisations, as well as within my own private practice. My work has gifted me a wealth of experience with both adults and young people from different backgrounds in a range of different formats.
My Approach
I believe therapy needs to be adaptive because there is no such thing as a ‘one size fits all’ approach. What is helpful for one person may not be helpful for the next, and we all need different approaches at different times in our lives. Some people come to therapy wanting a safe space to talk, others want to learn new tools and techniques, others are looking for a deep sense of healing. I offer a flexible approach and draw on a broad range of therapeutic modalities and practices, so I can make your therapy individual to you.
Why Therapy?
Therapy can offer you a dedicated and confidential space where you can feel safe to talk about your experience without being judged, and find support and guidance. Seeking help takes courage. Wherever you find yourself right now in your life, I will work with you collaboratively to tailor an approach that feels right for you.
There are many reasons to seek support through therapy. Some of the common issues clients bring are:
Anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts, self-criticism, low mood, panic attacks, paranoia, guilt, shame, overthinking
Trauma and PTSD – single traumatic events or developmental or complex trauma (often referred to as CPTSD)
Bereavement, loss, grief, change, illness, aging, menopause
Childhood/adult abuse, toxic relationships, co-dependancy
Identity issues, who am I?, feeling stuck or lost, low self-esteem, high sensitivity, perfectionism, spirituality-seeking
Addictions, anger management, self-harm, suicidal ideation
Relationships issues, break-ups and divorce, family problems, sexuality
Stress, burn out, workplace issues, breakdown, crisis
We all have times when we need support, and I am here to help you find your way.
Practical Details
I offer face-to-face sessions in Dursley, Gloucestershire, home visits (within approx 12 mile radius), and online sessions via Zoom, and work in both short and long terms formats, dependant on what is practically possible and helpful for you. We can either organise a fixed number of sessions, or decide to work in an open-ended format. In all cases I will review your therapy with you as it progresses, to ensure it is developing in the way you want it to.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
