Rose Dekowski Psychotherapist/Counselling BA (Hons), Dip CBT, BABCP Accredited
I love my career and I work with my heart and with genuine interest in seeing my clients getting better.
I decided to become a psychotherapist when I was eight years old due to my personal experience with a counsellor who changed my life, since then I grew up pursuing my dream of becoming a psychotherapist/counsellor one day, and make the same difference to other people’s lives.
There is Hope
Sometimes we need to understand what happened to us in our past, we need to face the traumas and make sense of them to enable us to move on. We then must challenge our core beliefs and our negative thoughts, related to the traumas we have, whilst looking for evidence that they are not really fair and realistic just as we think and believe they are.
How I work
In my practice I work with CBT and Counselling. I also help my clients understand and explore how and why our brain tricks us and keeps us stuck in our emotions. It is then that questions like 'what is going on with me?’ and 'why am I thinking and feeling like this?’ start to make sense.
My therapeutic style is integrative, a combination of the two approaches mentioned above, CBT and Counselling, and also the understanding of how our brain works. With this approach, even with just a short course of treatment you will be able to feel much better about yourself and make changes for the better.
