What can I help with?
As a Clinical Psychologist I can help with a broad range of difficulties. If there is something you want to change in your life or something holding you back from living the life you want I can help. You do not need to have a diagnosis of a "mental health problem" to work with me. I help people to improve their quality of life whether or not they have a label or diagnosed condition. I am a trained online therapist and am able to offer therapy that fits with your lifestyle.

Perinatal Metal Health
Sometimes life as a parent or a mum to be can feel hard. Sometimes anxiety, depression or trauma can prevent us from enjoying pregnancy and parenthood. This can be particularly difficult when everyone around us expects us to be happy. Many pregnant women and new parents feel confused about whether they have "post natal depression" or "PTSD" or whether how they feel is "normal". Working with me isn't about labels it is about improving your quality of life. Whether you have been given a diagnosis that you would like to work on or you just want to feel better and enjoy your day to day life more I can help.
Having been through two difficult pregnancies of my own I know how hard it can be to ask for help when you are struggling. It can feel like you SHOULD be able to cope alone. However, the human brain is not designed to be alone. That is why I decided to specialise in helping mums to be and new parents.

Training, qualifications & experience
Due to my training as a Clinical Psychologist I am able to draw on several types of therapy so that I can be flexible and find the right approach for you.
I am a trained online therapist.
I have completed additional training in specific therapies such including EMDR, CBT and Mindfulness that can be helpful for specific problems like anxiety, traumatic experiences and depression. I also have significant experience working with people with additional needs such as learning disabilities and autism. This means we can come up with a plan that suits your needs. Our work will be about making the changes in your life that matter to you so that you can be the parent you want to be.

How many sessions will I need?
Many people ask me how many sessions I think they will need. I offer integrated psychological therapy which means I draw on several approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Systemic Therapy, Cognitive Analytic Therapy, Compassion and Mindfulness to create a therapy that is unique to you and meets your needs. I also offer specific trauma therapy for people suffering from PTSD as the result of a traumatic birth or another traumatic incident. This is called EMDR therapy. Length of therapy can vary depending on the difficulties discussed and your preferences. For many clients EMDR can help them overcome the trauma of a difficult birth within four sessions. Sometimes however people feel they need to see me for much longer to get to the root of their difficulties. We will discuss how many sessions you would find helpful during our initial assessment meeting and make a therapy plan together.
