Rosaline Nain Chia
Are you struggling, feeling anxious about integrating into a new job or environment? Or struggling to find yourself in a new culture? I understand this can cause a lot of anxiety. I offer a non-judgmental Counselling service that provides you with the space to connect and create new comfortable ways of be-ing and do-ing; a relaxed space to gently explore your options and mindfully think of strategic ways to address the changes in and around you. Although I emphasise the importance of a holistic approach to Counselling I use Transactional Analysis (TA) as my main modality to understand and facilitate your navigation through life.
I am a qualified TA Counsellor. I work and abide by TA’s main concepts and principles that emphasise the worthiness, value and dignity of each human being; our capacity to think and decide what we want from life; such decisions are made consciously or unconsciously meaning we can change and make better decisions as we become better informed and aware.
A change in situations & circumstances can put a strain in our relationships & sometimes lead to depression & anxiety. If you are having a challenging time adjusting to a new, social environment or situation, I can support you to recognise your potential, grow in confidence & navigate into the new life you wish for yourself. Email to arrange an initial appointment.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified Counsellor with a COSCA diploma in Counselling using Transactional Analysis. I have 8 years of practice from working with private clients and clients within an organisation.
I am a Registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I abide by its ethical guidelines.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

The main principle in Transactional Analysis is that everyone can change and that we are all ok! “I am ok and You are ok”! People are Ok! Yes, regardless of who you are, what you do and what you think, YOU are Special and are a valuable person. This philosophy encourages meeting and accepting people where they are in their lives. I also belief that if we knew better we would do better.
My approach is to provide a non-judgemental space for you the client to explore your thoughts, beliefs and behaviour patterns with a view to developing your emotional intelligence and creating new options and outcomes for yourself.
