Ms. Ros Howard
I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with 16 years experience in the NHS and Independent Practice. I work with children, families, teenagers and adults. My aim is to enable a sense of well being within a person. I am accredited with The British Psychological Society (BPS) and registered with The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
The basis of my work is to enable an opportunity to explore, understand and recognise personal strength, resourcefulness and resilience.
I work in schools on an 'on call basis'; I lecture at University; I supervise trainee psychologists and therapists; I am recognised as a psychologist with major insurance companies such as BUPA, AXA PPP. I work for many rehabilitation companies to provide psychological therapy and support for people who have endured traumatic and distressing episodes in their life. I also write medico-legal reports for lawyers and insurance companies. I have written monthly articles for magazines about mental health and well-being. I have written a chapter to be included in a new edition book for counselling psychologists.
Based on my training and experience, I offer a range of psychological models of therapy, which means that I can tailor a way of working with you.
I offer a free telephone consultation for 15 minutes. This process enables me to hear from you about what is causing distress and whether you would like to work with me. This time will also allow you to consider if I am the right therapist for you.
I can offer flexible appointments.
I do not like to flag up labels, but if you think you may be feeling levels of distress associated with any of the areas listed below, then contact me for a 15 minute chat.
