About me

NHS/Iapt trained - Trauma, low self esteem, anxiety, addiction, depression, relationship issues.

I am an Integrative Counsellor, with Person Centered as my core model. I believe, we have times in our lives where we are not "coping" this can be due to a range or many things impacting us at once. We don't want advice we simply want to talk and someone to listen. We need to understand ourselves and what is impacting us, and affecting us in this way.

We know ourselves better than anyone else and so I work with you to establish where that anxiety is coming from, how to deal with it, creating a much healthier and well balanced life.  Most of my clients have coped for years with a range of issues but when something or many things alter that ability to cope, that sense or being overwhelmed can be debilitating.   You can feel "out of control" then that can lead to lack of motivation and depression.

Many issues can create this from health issues, money worries, trauma, relationships, bereavement, Social media bullying, etc...

I allow you to talk and by listening and working through with you, you can slowly make sense and re-focus, this sense of renewed focus can help you to move forward.

Having trained at The Awareness Center undertaking NHS referrals,  including Depression,  addiction,  historic trauma, low self esteem, relationship issues and anxiety I use a range of different therapies to work with my clients.  This allows me to tailor the help you need specifically to you. Working to the BACP ethical framework I offer confidential support,  non-judgmental listening, and using the right therapy for your presenting issue.

My clients are welcome to face to face in my own home, Online, or telephone. The key to the therapy working is the relationship, and trust between the Counsellor and Client. Not all are a right fit, this can be for a variety of reasons.  I offer a free 10 minute session to talk to me about the presenting issue, to see how you feel about working with me before we progress to booking further sessions, these are on the telephone or online.  However I do offer face to face in my own home once the therapy starts if you prefer.

Please leave me a message through email, or telephone, I may be with a client so If I don't get back to you straight away I will do asap.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
