About me

I've a background working with adults children/young adults and those who are neurodiverse. I've a specific interest in supporting new Mum's who experienced traumatic births, an area often shrouded in silence but vitally important to address. I use an integrated approach to counselling because no two journeys are the same. You have full autonomy over your narrative.

I understand how hard it can be to take the first steps on a counselling journey. The good news is you have already taken that first step by looking up your options.

If you are unsure if counselling is the right step for you or want to discuss your options further please get in touch. You will speak confidentially and directly to a counsellor.

Training, qualifications & experience

People seek counselling for a variety of reasons, each deeply personal and unique to their experiences and needs. Maybe it’s to address specific concerns such as depression, anxiety and PTSD. It can aid young people's development and emotional health. Addressing early childhood trauma can impact one's ability to live a healthier, more fulfilling life. Often as a new Mum, you can face a range of changes and challenges that may feel overwhelming. This can often be compounded by a traumatic birth experience which is so often not discussed and thus exasperating the sense of loneliness and isolation.

With a background and qualifications in Applied Social Studies, Social Care, Counselling, Trauma, and Child Youth and Family Intervention I hope I can help support you on your journey towards healing.

The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
