About me

I offer a supportive space either online or in-person for individuals to explore the difficulties they are currently facing in life and empower them to find their own solutions. Good therapy should be a supportive, non-judgemental and non-directive space where you feel safe to bring all parts of you and take the first steps in your journey towards wellness. I aim to offer such a space, utilising the skills I gained during my training and professional practice. My approach is informed by psychodynamic theory (which looks at early relationship patterns) and person-centred theory (which is grounded in empathy and led by you).

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified therapist with a Masters in Counselling from the University of Edinburgh. I am currently working towards a Postgraduate Certificate in Counselling Children and Young People from the University of Strathclyde.

I have worked with both adults and young people with a variety of issues such as bereavement and loss, separation and divorce, anxiety, depression, abusive relationships, school and work stress and issues related to disability and diagnostic labels.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
