About me

  • I am a fully qualified Clinical and Counselling psychologist HCPC registered and CBT therapist. I provide a warm, safe, supportive, non-judgemental space, which allows clients to feel listened to and to challenge established ways of thinking and being

I use REBT and CBT to help clients to become aware of their beliefs, attitude, unhealthy behaviours (e.g. procrastination, sleep disturbance) because I truly believe that negative emotions and dysfunctional behaviours are predominantly generated by dysfunctional beliefs and cognitive distortions. I provide a variety of methods and techniques to help you reformulate your maladaptive beliefs into more flexible and helpful ones. Consequently, changing cognitive distortions and using healthier and alternative ways of thinking, which can lead to an emotional improvement

I always follow a person-centred approach, in which I value your strengths and trust your ability/innate tendency to fulfil your personal potentials.

I have more than seven years of working experience in hospitals and mental health settings both in Italy and the UK providing high standards of psychological care, with compassion and empathy. I have worked with clients with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, panic attacks, brain injury, schizophrenia, personality disorders, substance misuse and I provided support for many years to people with a diagnosis of HIV/HCV.

I believe that therapy is a journey that enriches both the client and the therapist’s lives.

I have worked with diverse client groups both in the NHS and in the private setting, with clients who are/have experienced a range of issues-most commonly:

  • anxiety
  • panic attacks
  • generalised anxiety disorder
  • depression and seasonal affective disorder (SAD)

  • substance misuse
  • stress -life changes

If you are still unsure whether counselling/therapy would be beneficial, please do feel free to send me an email for an informal chat. I will be happy to discuss any concerns or questions you may have. I offer a FREE inital telephone consultation.

My work with clients starts with a brief assessment followed by an explanation of what I do and how I work so you can feel free to decide if you feel comfortable working with me and if this is the right approach for you.
