About me

I am a Professional Therapist with 13 years experience.

Wherever you currently find yourself in life, I offer a warm and friendly space to be heard.

We can explore what is going on for you, and work together to find the best way forward.

Through therapy you will gain deeper understanding, and grow inner resources.

My approach centres around Psychodynamic, Person Centred and Humanistic forms of counselling, but I am also trained in Integrative methods, so that counselling can be tailored around your needs.

Couples; I enjoy the energy of working with couples, and have increased my skill with couples through a six-month training focusing on Couple Dynamics and Relationships.

Student Counsellors/Trainees; I have offered therapy to many student counsellors. It is a joy to work with them as they grow into their new role.

Over twelve years I have worked for Farleigh Hospice, supporting those struggling with grief and loss.

In our first meeting we can explore the best way forward for you, and how you would like to use sessions. Initial sessions are charged at my usual rate, but this does not commit you to further counselling. If you wish to proceed, we can continue, for as long as our work is still useful to you.

I work from home in a private room. My practice is in Moulsham, close to central Chelmsford.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) bound by its ethical guidelines for good practice. I am fully insured.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
